Fashion Week Spring 2012

Discover the most sought-after beauty trends from the New York shows. Whether it’s the perfect red-coral lip, the cool “French girl” ponytail, dark-as-midnight eyes, or earthen tones applied almost anywhere, these are the standout looks of the season.

Glamorous Glow

The roaring twenties inspired the twinkly eyes and rose-petal blush. Makeup artist’s used a matte white eye shadow from eyelid to brow bone, topped off with coat after coat of black mascara. On the cheeks, he swept an apricot blush over the apples, adding a dusting of pink in the center to create a candle-lit glow. A gold lip gloss provided the final, dazzling finish.

Strong Brows With Subtle Lips

The way to wear a bold brow—which is definitely the direction to go in this spring—is with a soft, neutral lip. Try nude-toned pencil and lipstick finished with a sparkling champagne beige gloss!

Eyes That Pop

With an angled brush, working from the inner corners out, following the shape of your brow to create some major eye impact.

Starry Eyes

This striking, smokey blue eye owes its beauty to Vincent Van Gogh’s “Starry Night”.  For a likeness of the original, layer on gradations of rich blue, staring with Dark Rite Soft Touch Shadow Pencil (new for Spring 2012; for now, try Rue Saint Honore Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner) on the upper and lower lash lines, followed by a wash of Night Flight Single Eyeshadow rounded above the creases and topped with Tropic Single Eyeshadow for subtle sparkle.

Creatures Of The Wind: Pretty Pastel Liner

For a touch of whimsy, play with pastels at Creatures Of The Wind. But he didn’t go too far. Instead, he just applied a thin streak of blue above the crease and skirted a pink-y melon along the lower lash line. The overall look: carefree with an element of cool restraint.

Crimson Lips

Chocolate-red pouts and crisp ponytails – and more ponytails!

Defined Lashes

Applying M.A.C. Blacktrack Fluidline liner through the roots of curled lashes and stacking M.A.C. Lashes in #2 and #7 on the upper lids. A few coats of M.A.C. Optimum Black Opulash Mascara provided a captivating finish.
